Bat Guano Cleanup and Attic Decontamination in Brandon
Two jobs, not one
Getting the colony out and cleaning up after it are separate pieces of work with separate methods. Exclusion stops the accumulation growing. It does nothing about what is already sitting in the insulation, soaked into the top of the ceiling drywall, or holding odor in the cavity.
Where the roost was in a soffit rather than an attic, the deposit is in a shallow enclosed run with no working space, so it comes out through targeted access points rather than by walking the attic. That is a different job from an open attic cleanup and it is priced differently.
What the work covers
Contaminated insulation is bagged and taken out, the cavity is cleaned and treated, and the space is deodorized rather than perfumed. Where droppings have soaked into framing the timber surface gets treated instead of being boxed over. Insulation is reinstated so the attic returns to the R value it is supposed to have.
Blown fiberglass in a house of this age is often already thin and settled, so the replacement is usually the point at which the attic performs better than it did before the bats arrived. Work happens in respiratory protection with the space isolated from the rooms below, because dry guano puts particulate into the air as soon as it is disturbed.
